At Tri State Restorations our experienced staff concentrates on quickly drying, deodorizing and disinfecting areas flooded or damaged by water.  We are available 24/7 365 days a year and pledge to be at your home or business within 90 minutes to help minimize water damage to walls, floors and ceilings. The longer the area remains wet the higher the likelihood of significant damage and an increased economic burden. It is important to have a professional immediately respond and dry water-damaged areas and items within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth. If mold is left unattended, it can then affect the air quality of the indoor environment. MAKE NO MISTAKE: EVERY SECOND COUNTS! In addition, the unseen health hazards of bacteria, disease causing fungi, mold, mildew and asbestos lead can be released into the air. Other health hazards include danger from electrical shocks, slipping and personal injury, and the possibility of sewage back-flow.

Tri State Restorations will advise you on the proper steps to follow during and after the clean-up, thus helping keep your home or business as safe as possible. We use all our training and technology to ensure that all affected areas are dried completely and that the threat of mold and pathogen growth is eliminated. Give us a call today at 866-818-1949 and speak with a courteous trained representative to discuss your project.

About Water Damage

Water damage arises from many different sources for many different reasons. Whether from fire damage, broken pipes, blocked drains, malfunctioning appliances, storms or another cause,  the appropriate treatment depends on the nature of the damage. Some water carries contaminants and should be considered hazardous immediately. Whatever the origin, the prospects of restoration depend largely on the speed with which your building and personal property can be dried.  Even clear water can generate mildew and other bacterial growth if neglected.

Below are the Do's and Don't's of Water Damage as set forth by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning & Restoration Certification)

Water Damage Do….

  • Ventilate wet areas. Turn on the air conditioning for accelerated drying in the summer; in winter, alternate cycles of opened windows and heating.

  • Remove standing water from flat surfaces by sponging and blotting.

  • Take up saturated rugs and carpets when hardwood floors are at risk.

  • Stay out of rooms where ceilings are sagging from retained water.

  • Transport computers to a dry environment. Remove cases and blow dry with low pressure air.

  • Remove any artwork and paintings from the wall if affected by water damage. Remove any area rugs from the floor to dry outside or inside.

  • Punch tiny holes in a sagging ceiling to relieve trapped water. Make sure to place something underneath the holes beforehand to trap any water.

  • Remove wet upholstery cushions from the frame and prop them up to dry immediately.

  • Freeze valuable books and documents to retard mildew growth until drying can be performed.

  • Open drawers and cabinet doors for interior drying, but do not force open stuck drawers or doors.

  • Place aluminum foil squares, china saucers or wood blocks under furniture legs to avoid carpet staining.

  • Call your insurance carrier.

Water Damage Don’ts....

  • DON'T operate TV’s, vacuums or other appliances while standing on wet carpet or floors, especially not wet concrete floors. Serious injury may result.

  • DON'T use heat to dry closed building interiors; mildew and expanded moisture damage may result.

  • DON'T leave wet fabrics in place; space them apart and dry as soon as possible.

  • DON'T wait to call a remediation professional.

We are here for you 24/7 and have years of experience in handling water and flood damage.  Call today for more information.
