đź’• Today marks the official start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month đź’•
This cause is deeply personal to many of us at Tri State Restorations. Each October, we come together to honor survivors, remember those we’ve tragically lost and continue the fight to find a cure. This year, Tri State Restorations has pledged to donate 1% of October sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support life-saving research.
Why This Month Matters to Us
Unfortunately, not all cancer journeys end with good news. While some are able to ring the “Cancer Free” bell at the end of treatment, far too many never get that chance. That’s why raising awareness, promoting early detection, and supporting the search for a cure are so important to us.
Last year, TSR’s owner and CEO, Mark Wilson, lost his mother, Dorothy Ann Wilson, after her battle with stage 4 breast cancer. She was diagnosed in 2022 and passed on July 7, 2024.
Mark shared, “She is now resting with my father. I learned so much from my mom and dad, many times the hard way. But no matter the circumstances I’m not the person I am today without them and in the end I learned a lot more about love and forgiveness and what peace feels like. I’ll always hold onto the memories and feel in the end the love and admiration they had for me which eluded me for a long time, those things, which can’t be replaced by anything. Rest in peace Mom and Dad.”
We honor Dorothy’s memory this month as we stand in solidarity with all families affected by this disease.
“For me personally, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is also close to my heart. In August of 2022, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She began chemotherapy shortly after, and like many, started losing her hair. Though my mom is not typically a vain woman, her hair had always been one of her favorite attributes, and the idea of losing it was difficult. When the time came to shave it off, we turned it into a celebration of her beauty, strength, and resilience. We even did a photo shoot with friends and co-workers to remind her just how radiant she is — with or without hair. Today, I’m grateful to say my mom is a survivor. But she is one of the lucky ones, and I know far too many who weren’t as fortunate. That’s why I share her story — because awareness saves lives.” Adrianne Gracias, Director, Marketing, Tri State Restorations.Â
Why Awareness Matters
Breast cancer occurs when cells divide uncontrollably and spread into surrounding tissue. When caught early, treatments are often effective. But when detection comes late, the disease can take a devastating toll.
In 2024, it is estimated that 42,780 people (42,250 women and 530 men) in the U.S. will die from breast cancer. Awareness and early action are key.
You can help by:
- Talking to the women in your life about the importance of regular mammograms
- Encouraging monthly self-exams and preventative checkups
- Sharing information, resources, and stories that inspire others to act sooner

Standing Together
At TSR, we know that each story matters. We wear pink this month to show care, solidarity, and hope. We do it for the fighters, the survivors, and the loved ones we’ve lost. And we do it because together, we can make a difference.
Please join us in honoring Dorothy Ann Wilson, celebrating survivors like Adrianne’s mom and supporting the ongoing fight for a cure.
